WWHA is the result of the uniting of two great Wild West history organizations... NOLA and WOLA. WWHA is everything each of them was... and more. Building on a solid foundation coupled with renewed enthusiasm, strong leadership, and unlimited opportunities, WWHA is a dynamic organization, shaped by its members.
A love of the history and lore of the Wild West is something people around the world share. WWHA gives us the opportunity to learn, to share what we know, and to enjoy the fellowship of others with similar interests. When WWHA members get together, there is no lull in the conversation!
We are fortunate to have as members many of the great historians and authors in this field of interest. However, EVERYONE who is interested in the Wild West, as defined in our Focus and Goals, should be a member of WWHA.

2012 is the Centennial of the state of Arizona. Because of the number of celebrations, getting a good location in Prescott for the Roundup necessitated changing our dates from the usual end of July to the first of August. The 2012 Roundup dates are August 1-4 in Prescott, Arizona. The board meeting will be on Wed. morning August 1st and the banquet will be Sat. night August 4th. Mark your calendar with these dates.
On Wednesday, November 9, 2011, the Arkansas River Bridge that connects Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Fort Gibson was officially named the "Bass Reeves Memorial Bridge" at a dedication in Muskogee. Politicians that attended included Oklahoma State Senator Earl Garrison, who spearheaded the event, State Representative George Faught, State Senator Kim David and State Representative Jerry Shoemake. There was also a group of renactors on hand for the event.
Be sure and check out WWHA's Facebook page. There is a lot of activity between members posting old photos, gun talk, books and news about WWHA.
The Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming, one of the premier western history museums in America, has completed the installation of the "GALLERY OF GUNFIGHTERS" exhibit.
