WWHA Looking for New Board Members 5/24/2009

According to the bylaws of the Wild West History Association, there are to be fifteen members of the Board of Directors. Each director is to serve three years with the expiration of the director's terms to be staggered so that five members will be elected, or reelected each year.

When WWHA came into existence a little over a year ago all fifteen members were elected at the same time. In order to establish the staggered terms, the length of the term, from one to three years, was determined by drawing numbers out of a hat…a cowboy hat of course.

In July 2009 the current term of those five board members who pulled a one out of the hat is expiring. Therefore it is necessary either to re-elect the current members or select new members for the board.

We are presently in the process of selecting a combination of five new or existing board members to serve a three year term the middle of July of 2009.

If you or someone you know would like to be considered for the Wild West History Association Board of Directors it is necessary to have an approximate two hundred word biography including why they would like to serve on the board, sent to me at Dakota@RavenHeart.com by July 1, 2009.

The requirements are that the nominee be a member of WWHA and be committed to attending the winter and summer board meetings.

The nominating committee will select qualified applicants to be approved by the board of directors and membership attending this year's annual Roundup.

Incidentally, if you nominate someone, we request you get the approval of that person prior to nomination.
